Writing
Keep the syntax. Read it cleanly.
Headings, bold, lists, checklists, tables, and code are styled while the Markdown syntax stays in place. Tap the M↓ button to hide the syntax for a clean reading view.
Markdown notes, with math
As simple as the built-in Notes app, and your notes are always plain Markdown text, math included. For iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
MD Yohaku is waiting for App Store review. Once it's out, you'll be able to download it here.
iPhone · iPad · Mac — Free for up to 5 notes · Pro is a one-time purchase
MathFrom version 1.1
Write math the same way as on GitHub: $…$ inside a line, and for a formula on its own, wrap it in lines containing just $$ or put it in a ```math code block. Hide the syntax with M↓ and it's typeset as a real formula.
It works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your note stays plain Markdown text, so you can take it to GitHub or anywhere else as is.
Write this
The roots of a quadratic are
$$
x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}
$$
where $b^2-4ac$ is the discriminant.

Tables and listsFrom version 1.1
Tables and lists look tidier too when you hide the syntax with M↓.
Columns line up, with rules between rows like a table in a paper.
Bullets become dots, and checklists become circles you can tap to check.
Character count
MD Yohaku counts your text without Markdown symbols and spaces. It also shows lines, to-dos, and pages of Japanese 400-character manuscript paper.

Example
Sync and privacy
Notes sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac with iCloud. They're stored only in your own iCloud, with note bodies encrypted. The developer can't read them.
Files
Your notes are plain Markdown, so you can take them to any other app.
Open an .md file to import it as a note.
Export a note as .md, or a folder or all your notes as .zip.
Mac only
The Mac app includes an MCP server, so Claude Desktop and Claude Code can search, read, and add to your notes. It works only while you allow it in Settings, and stops as soon as you turn it off.
Pricing
Every feature is in the free version. The only difference is how many notes you can create.

Support
Make sure every device is signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account, and that iCloud isn't turned off for MD Yohaku in iCloud settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud). The sync status appears at the bottom of the Folders screen.
Open MD Yohaku Pro from the More menu (on Mac, the MD Yohaku menu) and tap Restore Purchase, signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy it.
Export a note as an .md file, or a folder or all notes as a .zip. Opening an .md file imports it as a note.
In Settings (⌘,), turn on Allow Access from Claude, then add the shown command or config to Claude Code or Claude Desktop. For Claude Code, copy the command and run it in Terminal.
Starting with version 1.1, click Add to Claude Desktop under How to Connect in Settings. Allow Access from Claude turns on automatically and Claude Desktop opens; click Install in the confirmation that appears. If Claude Desktop isn't installed, download it first, then click the button again. To set it up by hand instead, expand the manual setup section in Settings to copy the config.
Deleted notes stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, and you can restore them from there.
